This free prompt library gives you 15 expert prompts across 10 audit sections to run a complete Google Ads audit using Claude AI. Connect Claude to your account via MCP for a 45-minute full audit, or use manual data exports if you prefer. The library covers conversion tracking, campaign structure, bidding, Performance Max, shopping feeds, search terms, audiences, and a synthesized priority action plan.
15 free Claude AI prompts for auditing a Google Ads account, organized into 10 sections covering conversion tracking, PMax, bidding, negative keywords, and a priority action plan. Designed for Claude specifically, not ChatGPT. Paste, run, get a useful first pass.
Your Google Ads account has problems. You probably know this. What you don't know is where to look or what to ask.
That's the real issue. Agencies hand you dashboards with surface metrics. Google's interface is designed to keep you spending, not to help you find waste. And generic audit checklists tell you to check your conversion tracking without explaining what to actually look for.
I built a Claude AI prompt library that fixes this. It's a step-by-step system of 15 expert prompts across 10 sections that walks you through every critical area of your Google Ads account. Conversion tracking, campaign structure, bidding strategy, Performance Max, shopping feeds, search terms, audiences. Each prompt tells Claude exactly what to analyze and what to flag.
No generic advice. No "it depends." You paste the prompt, Claude analyzes your actual data, and you get specific findings with specific fixes. The prompt library is free. Fill out the form below and I'll send it directly to your email.
01Why Claude AI for Google Ads (Not ChatGPT)
You could run audit prompts in ChatGPT. They'd work, partially. But there's a reason this library is built specifically for Claude.
Claude handles structured data analysis with significantly more precision. When you paste a 500-row search terms report, Claude doesn't summarize it with vague platitudes. It identifies the exact rows draining your budget, spots the patterns, and tells you what to do about each one.
More importantly, Claude supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) — a direct connection between Claude and your Google Ads account. Instead of manually exporting CSVs and pasting them into a chat window, Claude pulls your account data directly. This makes the entire audit faster, more accurate, and eliminates the tedious export cycle.
The video above walks you through the full MCP setup. Once connected, you just paste the prompts and Claude queries your account in real time.
ChatGPT doesn't support MCP. Neither do most other AI tools. This is why the library is Claude-specific — it changes the workflow from "hope the AI understands my CSV" to "Claude, look at my actual account and tell me what's broken."
02How the Prompt Library Works
The library is designed as a sequential audit. You run each section in order — each one builds on the findings of the previous section. By the end, you have a complete picture of your account and a prioritized action plan.
Here's the process:
One-time setup, about 10 minutes. The prompt library includes a link to the full video walkthrough. If you prefer manual exports, every prompt also includes instructions for what report to pull from Google Ads directly.
Claude pulls the data, analyzes it, and flags specific issues. Each prompt tells Claude exactly what to look for so you don't need to interpret raw numbers yourself.
Claude synthesizes all findings into a ranked list of fixes, separated into quick wins (under 1 hour) and structural changes (require planning). This is the section that turns audit findings into actual decisions.
With MCP connected: 45 to 60 minutes for all 10 sections. Without MCP (manual exports): 2 to 3 hours because of the export and paste cycle. Either way, it's faster than waiting weeks for an agency report.

03What's Inside: 10 Audit Sections, 15 Prompts
The prompt library covers every area of a Google Ads account that matters for e-commerce profitability. Here's what each section targets:
Top-level performance scan across all campaigns. Identifies the biggest areas of concern, budget utilization gaps, and which campaigns need urgent attention. Sets the baseline for everything that follows.
The most critical section in the entire library. Checks for double-counting, wrong counting methods (every vs. one conversion), broken tags, micro-conversions inflating numbers, and revenue tracking gaps. Every optimization decision downstream depends on this being right.
Evaluates whether brand traffic is isolated from non-brand, whether product categories are properly separated, and whether the account structure supports clean optimization decisions. Flags dead ad groups, messy segmentation, and mixed campaign types.
Analyzes your search terms report for irrelevant traffic patterns, identifies negative keyword gaps, and finds high-converting terms that should be isolated as exact match. Also checks whether existing negatives are accidentally blocking relevant traffic.
Checks whether your bid strategy matches your actual data volume. Campaigns need roughly 30 or more conversions per month for Smart Bidding to work properly. This section flags over-constrained algorithms, unrealistic ROAS targets, and campaigns that would perform better on manual bidding.
PMax is a black box by design. These prompts extract as much insight as possible: Is PMax cannibalizing your brand traffic? Are asset groups organized properly or is everything lumped together? Is PMax ROAS inflated because it's claiming credit for searches that would've converted anyway?
Shopping campaign performance is directly tied to feed quality. This section identifies zero-click products, title and CTR issues, revenue concentration patterns, and product categories with consistently poor conversion rates.
Analyzes RSA strength scores, identifies ads with high impressions but low CTR (message-to-query misalignment), checks for ad groups running only one RSA, and finds which headline themes actually convert.
Checks remarketing list setup, whether past purchasers are excluded from prospecting campaigns, Customer Match utilization, and whether audience segments have appropriate bid adjustments or are being treated identically to cold traffic.
The final synthesis prompt. Run this after completing all previous sections. Claude consolidates every finding into a ranked action list: top 5 issues by impact, quick wins vs. structural changes, and what to fix first today before anything else.
04Sample Prompts From the Library
Here's a preview of what's inside. These are actual prompts from the library, not summaries or paraphrased versions.
Conversion Tracking Audit (Section 2)
This is always the first real check in any audit. Everything else is meaningless if conversions aren't measured correctly.
Pull my full list of conversion actions from Google Ads. Analyze this and flag: 1. Any conversion actions where the counting method is 'Every conversion' on a lead or form (this inflates numbers — leads should use 'One conversion') 2. Any duplicate conversion actions that appear to track the same event 3. Conversion actions marked as Secondary that are actually the most important business outcome 4. Any conversion actions with 0 recorded conversions in the last 90 days (potentially broken) 5. Whether the attribution model makes sense for an e-commerce account
PMax vs. Brand Traffic Check (Section 6)
The question every e-commerce store should ask about Performance Max: is it actually driving new revenue, or is it claiming credit for people who were already going to buy?
Pull my Performance Max campaign data alongside my brand search campaign data for the last 90 days. Analyze: 1. Is PMax spending significant budget on queries that my brand search campaign should be capturing? 2. Does PMax ROAS look inflated compared to non-brand search campaigns? This could indicate it is claiming credit for brand searches or direct traffic. 3. What is the PMax spend as a percentage of total account spend? Is it dominating the account budget without proportional incremental value?
Negative Keyword Gap Analysis (Section 4)
Most accounts have negative keyword lists that were set up once and never touched again. Meanwhile, new irrelevant search terms pile up every month.
Pull my current negative keyword lists and compare them against the search terms report from the previous analysis. Identify: 1. Which irrelevant search terms from the report are NOT covered by existing negatives? 2. What negative keywords should be added to stop this traffic? 3. Are there any negatives that might be accidentally blocking relevant traffic? 4. Suggest whether each new negative should go at account level, campaign level, or in a shared list — based on how broadly the irrelevance applies
Priority Action Plan (Section 10)
The final prompt. Run this after completing all sections. If you used MCP, Claude already has all the context — just paste this and it synthesizes everything.
Based on everything we have analyzed in this conversation — campaigns, conversion tracking, structure, search terms, bidding, PMax, shopping feed, ad copy, and audiences — create a prioritized action plan: 1. List the top 5 issues by estimated impact on wasted spend or missed revenue. For each issue, tell me: - What the problem is - Why it matters (financial impact) - What to do to fix it - How long it will take to implement 2. Separate quick wins (fixable in under 1 hour) from structural changes (require planning or campaign rebuilds). 3. What should I do first, today, before anything else?

05Who Is This Prompt Library For?
This library is built for e-commerce store owners who run Google Ads — whether you manage the account yourself, have a freelancer doing it, or work with an agency you're not fully confident in.
It's particularly useful if:
- You suspect your conversion tracking isn't accurate but don't know how to verify it
- You're running PMax but have no idea if it's actually driving new sales or just claiming credit for brand traffic
- Your ROAS has been flat or declining and you can't pinpoint why
- You're spending $5K or more per month and want a systematic way to find waste
- You've been handed "everything's fine" reports that don't feel right
- You want to hold your agency accountable with real, data-backed questions
This prompt library will help you find problems. Fixing structural issues like campaign rebuilds, tracking implementations, and feed overhauls often requires hands-on expertise. Think of this as your diagnostic tool, not the treatment. Once you have the findings, you'll know exactly what to ask a specialist to fix.
06How to Get Started (3 Steps)
Getting the prompt library running takes about 15 minutes total:
Fill out the form below. I'll send the file directly to your email — no sequences, no drip campaigns, just the file.
Watch the MCP setup video walkthrough. Takes about 10 minutes. If you prefer manual exports, that works too — every prompt includes export instructions.
Start with Section 1 (Account Overview) and work through to Section 10 (Priority Action Plan). Each section tells you exactly what data to pull and what Claude should analyze. By the end, you'll have a complete audit with a ranked list of what to fix first.
